The last religious rites for Mrs. Albertha Simmons will be held on Tuesday morning, June 1, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Central Missionary Baptist Church, Summerville, SC, Rev. Byron Foster, Pastor.  Interment Hillcrest Cemetery. 

"But Those who wait on the Lord, Shall renew their strength, They shall mount up with wings like eagles They shall run and not be Weary, They shall walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31

Mrs. Albertha Summers Simmons was born November 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Rev. Abraham Summers and Lula Grant Summers in the Knightsville Community of Summerville South Carolina.

She was joined in Holy wedlock to the late Mr. Woodrow Simmons to this Union four children were born, her youngest son Charlie preceded her in death.

She was a life long member of Central Baptist Church, serving as a Choir member and the Missionary Society. She loved singing and cheered and uplift many, especially those in the nursing facility were she resided.

Albertha was employed as a domestic worker for several families in South Carolina and New York. She retired from the department of Disabilities and Special Needs.

She heard the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday morning, May 28, 2010 to come and take your heavenly rest.

Those in whose memory she will forever be cherished are her children; Cassandra S. Parker, William (Altowease) Simmons, Woodrow (Bessie) Simmons, Sister Helen S. Reid, Sisters-in-law Mariah Summers, Earline Williams, Edna Simmons, grandchildren, great- grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying for the former are passed away."

To the family of Mrs. Albertha Simmons, Mrs Simmons will be greatly missed she was a wonderful person and I will always remember her Heaven has a new angel. My condolences to the family of a great lady. I will miss her.
