The last religious rites for Mr. Daniel L. Geddis will be held on Saturday morning, February 20, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Sand Hill United Methodist Church, Ridgeville (Clubhouse Community), SC, Rev. Mack McClam, Pastor. Interment Churchyard Cemetery. Public Viewing will be held on Friday evening from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Albert A. Glover Funeral Home.
Daniel L. Geddis son of the late David McKinley Geddis and Maggie Mitchell Geddis was born June 16, 1946 in Adams Run, SC (Geddisville Section). He departed this life on Sunday, February 14,2010 at his residence.
He attended the public schools of Dorchester County and he graduated in 1965 from Alston High School, Summerville, SC. In June 1966 Daniel graduated from the State of S.C. Certificate Youth Special Training for Economic Progress with a certificate in Carpentry.
Daniel was joined in holy matrimony to the former Julia E. Davis on December 23, 1972. They were blessed with five children.
Daniel was a member of Sand Hill United Methodist Church and he served faithfully in the following capacities: Member of the Trustee Board, United Methodist Men, and Building Committee for the Family Life Center and new Sand Hill Church. He was also a Trustee for the Canaan/Sand Hill Charge. Daniel was a member of New Eden Lodge #329, Prince Hall Affiliated Free and Accepted Masons, Summerville, SC.
Daniel owned and operated D&D Siding and Cornice for more than twenty years. Prior, he was employed at Goer Manufacturing Company, North Charleston, SC.
Daniel was an avid sportsman. He was a member of 1400 Hunting Club, Ridgeville, SC. He also enjoyed traveling abroad and cruising the Caribbean; his favorite of all was the "Fantastic Voyage."
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving wife of 38 years Julia E. Geddis; Four daughters, Mrs. Maria Bowens (Terry) of Savannah, GA, Mrs. LeonaPartis (Tony) of Waldorf, MD, Mrs. Stacy Huger (Jason) of Ladson, SC and Ms. Madeline Geddis of Adams Run, SC; one son Mr. Danny Geddis (Crystal) of Adams Run, SC; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Crawford (late James) of Charleston, SC, Mrs. Mary Robinson (late Richard), Mrs. Edith Washington (Elijah) all of Summerville, SC; one brother, Mr. David Geddis (Evelyn) of Adams Run; two sisters who preceded him in death Mrs. Margie Coaxum (late Alfred) and Mrs. Vivian Brown (Louis); one aunt, Mrs. Victoria Geddis; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Victoria Teasdell (Ben), Ms. Barbara Jean Davis, Mrs. Ethel Elam (Joseph); brothers-in-law, Elder James Davis (Joann), Mr. Thomas "TJ" Davis (Teresa), Mr. Anthony Davis (Leather)}and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
