The last religious rites for Ms. Albertha Mitchell will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 11:00 AM at New Ashley Baptist Church,110 New Ashley Boulevard, Summerville, SC 29485,Rev. Solomon Rice, Pastor.  Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Summerville, SC.  Public viewing for Ms. Mitchell will be held TODAY from 3:30 PM-7:30 PM.

On Friday, January 22, 2010, a devoted mother and sister, Albertha Helen Mitchell was called to her heavenly reward.

Albertha Helen Mitchell, daughter of the late Mr. Heyward and Mrs. Margaret Middleton Mitchell was born on August 11, 1953 in Dorchester County.

She graduated from Summerville High School in 1971. Later she furthered her education at Trident Technical College where she received a degree in General Office Management.

She was employed by the Coastal Center. She later became a Teacher’s Assistant until she retired in 2008, later she was employed by Ashley Ridge High School. 

Albertha  always put the interest of her children first and saw to it that they were given the best that she could provide, in loving care and material comfort.

She became a member of New Ashley Baptist Church where she served for many years.

She leaves behind two daughters, Michelle and Alicia Mitchell of Ladson, SC; two brothers, Woodrow (JoAnn) Reid of Hollywood, SC, Joe Nathan (Gwen) Mitchell of San Francisco, CA; four sisters Florence (Matthew) Lambright of Ridgeville, SC, Sarah (Arnold) Dantzler, Margaret (Evans) Price of Summerville, SC and Judy (Morris) Lee of North Charleston, SC; two deceased brothers Heyward (Barbara) Mitchell, Jr. and Leroy (Evelyn) Mitchell, aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends.
