Marquis Reed

Marquis was born on December 11, 1991 to Bridgett Reed in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He received his early education in the public schools of Orangeburg County graduating from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 2010 where he was a member of the HLS Step Team. His educational pursuits continued at Claflin University “Panthers” in Orangeburg where he graduated in 2015 with a degree in Mass Communication where photography and videography were his favorites. While at Claflin he would enter a unique and special brotherhood when he became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 2013.

Marquis worked at several jobs as Manager at Papa Johns, Manager at Hibbett Sports, and lastly driver for JBHunt. His life was full, rich and happy, he loved people and sought to help them. Marquis felt that is years on earth should be marked by earnestness, reverence, love and faithfulness in all he did and said and he was true to this belief. The passing of Marquis is the will of God, and yet there is a human tie that his been broken which bleeds the heart in agony and pain.

Marquis has left behind a memory garden fragrant with love and laughter, but his memory will forever live in the hearts of his wife Tyressa, mother Bridgette Reed, Grandmother Lillie Benjamin, sister Jaquetta Busby, father and mother-in-law Tyrone and Cheryl Ravenell, grandmothers-in-law Martha Johnson and Ethel Ravenell, Godmother Karen Abraham, sisters-in-law Lakeya, Teya and Shania Ravenell and Katlin Williams, his two best men Akeem Corley and Timothy Gadson, aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and special friends his 17 brothers from Spring 2013 Omega line "Masters of Redemption, Big Drip".
