Obituary

Mr. Alzono Grant was the son of the late Joseph Grant Sr. and Evelina Manly Grant. Alonzo was born on December 03, 1943 in North Charleston, SC. Alonzo was a graduate of Bonds Wilson High School. At an early age he joined the Army, where he served in the 82 nd Airborne. Then he worked at Honeywell for a short period of time and left to go to Lockwood. From there he found his dream job at the International Longshoreman Association Local 1422. As a leader, mentor, and friend to all that crossed his path, where he was an active member for the last fifty years. He was preceded in death by two children Korey A. Grant and Jabari P. Smalls; three siblings Helen Williams, Leroy Williams, and Margaret Dingle. Left in Loving Memory his wife Barbara Smith Grant; children Kenneth A. (Rossy) Grant, Keith A.(Candice) Grant, Kelly A. (Heather) Grant, Jonathan C. (Shontay) Smalls; sisters and brothers Roselee Whified, Johnny Sheppard, Joseph(Mildred)Grant, and Jessie Grant and a host of grandchildren, great-grands, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
