IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony
Wright
September 17, 1964 – October 19, 2025
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
A Time To Be Born
On September 17, 1964, Anthony Luther Wright was born in the Borough of Manhattan, New York, to Luther and Inez Wright. He was truly a blessing as the sixth male child born into a blended family. His parents doted on him in many ways, raising him as a proud New Yorker while also ensuring he was connected to his family roots in the South. A Time To Grow Anthony was a "Native New Yorker." he grew up in the New York City Polo Grounds Community. He was educated in the New York City school system and graduated from Martin Luther King Jr. High School, Class of 1982. After high school, he pursued his passion for visual arts, studying Still Photography, Video, and Cinematography at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Anthony had a very successful career as a photographer and was especially proud of his television work with NBC and the Cosby Show. After relocating to South Carolina his entrepreneurial spirit led him to create and lead his own companies: Black Door Enterprises and ALW Realty. A Time To Mourn Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Luther Wright; his mother, Inez (Tucker) Wright; and his brothers, Arnold Wright, Joe Gate, Earl Grate, and Bertell Grate. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Hall Grate of Knightsville, SC; his uncle, Melvin Wright of McClellanville, SC; and his aunt, Carolyn Wright of Atlanta, GA. Anthony also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and a very large circle of friends from New York who will cherish his memory. Anthony's legacy as a devoted son, family man, creative professional, and loyal friend endures in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
