IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Ross Catchings
April 1, 1955 – January 31, 2026
Mrs. Barbara Ann Catchings was born on April 11, 1955, in Dorchester, South Carolina, to the late Dan Ross and Thelma Ruth Ross. Barbara lived her life quietly, faithfully, and on her own terms. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, God lovingly sent His angel to bring her home. Barbara was raised in Dorchester, South Carolina, where she attended the public schools of Dorchester County and graduated from Harleyville–Ridgeville High School. She loved the Lord and committed her life to serving Him. Barbara joined Refuge Temple Holiness Church, where she faithfully served for many years. She sang in the choir, worked in the kitchen, and served as a Junior Missionary. Her dedication to the church and her quiet service spoke louder than words. Barbara was also a hardworking woman. She was employed at Sundaram Clayton USA in Ridgeville, South Carolina, where she worked as a production operator. She took pride in showing up, doing her job, and taking care of her responsibilities. Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings: Louella James, Daniel Ross, W. J. Ross, Will Junior Ross, and Adell Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Mrs. Geneva Smiley of Dorchester, South Carolina; two brothers, Reverend James Ross (Ethel) and Mr. David Ross (Debra), both of Dorchester, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Janie Ross and Gloria Ross, both of Dorchester, South Carolina; her aunt, Endell Mays; one niece, Emma Ross Pinckney, and two nephews, David M. Ross and Levern Ross, who were like siblings to her; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and all who were touched by her life.
