Mrs. Barbara A. Jones Ogelsby , the daughter of the late Irene W. Jones and the late Reverend Leroy Jones, was born on November 26, 1959, in Ladson, SC. Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and attended Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Usher Board and the Gospel Choir. She also participated in the Community Choir of Ladson, sharing her beautiful alto voice.

Barbara was a proud member of the Ladson Raiderettes, a local community league, where she was known for her outstanding skills as a third baseman and her powerful throwing arm. She graduated from R. B. Stall High School, where she not only excelled academically but also stood out as a talented trombone player. As a student, she even earned income working as a bus driver. After high school, Barbara enlisted in the United States Army, where she served her country with honor as a Communication Specialist.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Irene W. Jones; her father, Reverend William Leroy Jones; her stepmother, Ruby Jones; her brothers, James Leroy Jones, Anthony Lorenzo Jones, Eric Jason Jones; and her sister, Diane.

She leaves to mourn her only child, Michael George Henry, whom she loved deeply from the moment she knew God had blessed her with him. Barbara was a devoted mother who taught Michael to persevere through life's challenges, always reminding him that "trouble doesn't last always."

Barbara is also survived by her siblings: Rev. Clayton (Gail), Rev. Solomon (Ann), Rev. Alfonza (Frances), Brenda, Rev. Albert (Carolyn), Vella, William, Annette, Rev. Maurice, Gary, Tina (Stanley), Karen, Sheila (Bill), and Alethia (Rickey). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, two aunts, Ethel and Francine, and one uncle, Wallace Washington.

Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
