IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beatice
Pinckney
March 17, 1943 – December 23, 2016
"Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Beatrice "Mary Ann" Pinckney's earthly journey began on March 17, 1943 in Summerville, SC, where she was born to her late parents, Anna Pinckney Mitchell and Jessie Limehouse. Her earthly journey would end on December 23, 2016 at Summerville Medical Center, where she would join all of her family in a new heavenly home, more beautiful than any we have ever known.
Beatrice would receive her early, formative education in the public schools of Dorchester County and graduating as a member of the Class of 1963 at Alston High School.
Beatrice was faithful to her church, always present at every service unless hindered from being there and proudly served as a member of the Usher Board. Beatrice believed in the promise from God in Psalm 73:24 "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel and afterward receive me to glory. " As a member of Tri-County Ushers, Beatrice visited and worked in many lowcountry churches.
Before moving back home, Beatrice would work as a Scrub Technician at White Plains Hospital. She would late work as security guard and as a crossing guard at Spann Elementary School.
Beatrice generously embraced anyone who needed that extra special touch, and could be found volunteering to help serve and clean at her daughter's church. Her very nature, to give of herself, expecting nothing in return could be found in her volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Beatrice had personal dignity and great respect for others. Though her persona was strong, she was soft hearted and nurturing to all. Not one to be idle, Beatrice enjoyed quilting, and was though by many to have a green thumb, because she loved gardening.
Though Beatrice is gone, she will never be forgotten by her children: Douglas Pinckney (the late Phyllis), Theresa Wilson and Shunthaw Wilson; sisters Gloria Wilson and Helen Senu-Oke (Edward) and brothers Joseph Pickney (Jennie) and Thomas Pinckney; granddaughters who were her heart Zuri Pinckney, Sasha Pinckney and Zakiya Wilson, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
