Obituary

Betty (Barbara) Ann Johnson the daughter of the late John T. Campbell, Sr. and the late Annabell Johnson Campbell was born on July 10, 1947 in Summerville, SC. Barbara and her family attended Murray United Methodist Church where she committed her life to Jesus Christ and has been a life-long member.

On February 29, 1964, Barbara was joined in holy matrimony to John Henry Johnson. It was a beautiful love and marriage that would thrive for 21 years until John Henry's death in 1985. From this holy union, they were blessed with four wonderful children, Sylvonia, Deanna, Henry Quinn and Glenn and they raised their nephew Reginald Campbell as their own son. Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who took care of her family and nurtured them to be God fearing and independent individuals.

Barbara attended Dorchester County schools, raised her family and began her early career in Summerville, SC. She eventually began working for the state of South Carolina and retired after 25 years as a dietician's assistant at the Coastal Center in Ladson, SC.

Barbara was called home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, December 24, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Johnson, her daughter, Deanna Johnson Mitchell, her parents, John and Annabell Campbell, Sr., her sister, Mary Campbell, and three brothers, John Campbell, Jr., Leon Johnson and Herbert Campbell.
