Clayton Alonzo Reed was born July 29, 1947 to the late Wickman Alonzo and Madelina Roach Reed. He departed his earthly home on June 5, 2018 in Moncks Corner, SC while at work with US Security Association.

He was a graduate of Alston High School, Class of 1965. He also attended Allen University.

He worshiped at Bethel AME Church in Summerville, SC from an early age until death. He loved Sunday School and Bible Study. He was a Junior Trustee, Usher and sang on the Men's Choir. He served as a Trustee and a Class Leader for many years. He had a special affection for "Church School". He had a great love for Bethel AME Church.

He was a member of the Mason Lodge # New Eden Chapter 329.

Clayton loved to golf, fish and playing UNO. He especially enjoyed grilling out with family and friends. He took pride in helping those in need.

Clayton was employed with General Dynamic many years until its closing. He retired from Walmart after 20 years of dedicated service. He was also a member of the by Albert Glover Funeral staff until his death.

In 1968 Clayton married Elaine Williams and was blessed with two sons, Sherriod and Dexter Reed.

Clayton leaves to cherish in his memories two sons, Sherriod and Dexter Reed (daughters-in-law, Wendy and Melissa) both of Summerville, SC; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who brought him great joy and many smiles. He leaves two loving sisters, Alva Reed of New York, New York and Sadie (Franklin) Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and three God children, Brandese Lloyd and Gary and Priscilla Wellington of Summerville, SC.

Memories of Clayton will forever be etched in other hearts.
