Brown
March 22, 1922 – November 15, 2019
Edrena was born on March 26,1922 in Burton, SC to Jake (Captain) Brown and Cecelia Brown. Her mother passed when she was thirteen years old. An older sister, Arleen brought her to Charleston some years later, where she lived the rest of her life. She lived in James Island home for nearly fifty years. She became ill with Alzheimer's disease in the nineties. Her eldest daughter Katherine, along with Katherine's husband Thomas cared for her until she became too ill. Her second child Audrey and Thomas cared for both.
She became one of the Jehovah's Witness in the fifties. She enjoyed reading the Bible, which she did daily as long as she was able. She is preceded in death by her oldest son Malachi Brown and sixteen siblings.
She is survived by daughters Katherine (Thomas) Pinckney and Audrey Pinkney; one son Joseph (Glenora) Brown, five grandchildren, Victor Keith Hill, Layton Brown, Joseph C. (Regina) Brown, Robyn Brown and Rachel Brown, one great- grandson Joseph C. Brown Jr, one step- great-grandson, Demar Kilgore, one sister Flora Brown and a host of nieces and nephews. She earned the love and respect of her children and others. She will be missed
