Eugene (Gene) Ferrell, the 8th child of the late Mr. John Cecile Ferrell and Mrs. Maxine Rice Ferrell, was born on April 18, 1962 in Dorchester County, South Carolina. Gene entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, March 2, 2015 in Ridgeville, South Carolina. He joined Greater New Hope AME Church at an early age as a member of Class #10. Gene graduated from Summerville High School. He enjoyed sharing numerous occasions surrounded by friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews, as well as showing his devotion to anyone who needed his assistance. At the time of his homegoing, Gene was employed with Dorchester School District 4 at Clayhill Elementary School in Ridgeville, South Carolina. He was a dedicated employee and enjoyed working with the administrative staff, teachers and co-workers. Gene leaves to cherish fond memories: Camelia Ferrell (Randolph) McLain, Columbia, SC; Robert Louis (Mary) Ferrell; Harvey (Marie) Ferrell; Ulysses (Pamela) Ferrell; Molly Marie Ferrell (Michael) Snipes; Bernard (Harriett) Ferrell; and Malcolm (Rena) Ferrell all of Ridgeville, SC. Others continuing to remember Gene are his Aunts, Phronia Bell Sanders, Ridgeville, SC and Blanche Ferrell (Louis) Fowler, Summerville, SC; and Uncles, the Rev. Henry (Pauline) Ferrell, Ridgeville, SC; James Mike (Vernell) Ferrell, Harleyville, SC; Leroy Smith, Syracuse, NY; and Daniel King DeLee of Ridgeville, SC. Fond memories of Gene will always be remembered by the many hearts of his cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He loved working with and being associated with people. All of us will never forget his positive outlook which attracted him to everyone who knew and loved him.
