Ian Sheldon “Shane” Prioleau, Jr. was born on February 24, 2004, to his loving and devoted parents, Shanetta McGill and Ian Sheldon Prioleau, Sr. He departed this life peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Ian was a proud graduate of Summerville High School. He was a loving and caring young man with a beautiful heart and soul. Ian loved his family dearly and will always be remembered for his warm smile, kind spirit, and gentle heart.

Ian had a passion for working with his hands and especially enjoyed restoring and fixing old model cars. His love for cars was more than a hobby—it was something that brought him joy and allowed his creativity to shine. He will forever be remembered for his passion, his loving personality, and the special memories he created with those who loved him.

Ian leaves to cherish his precious memories his parents, Shanetta McGill and Ian Sheldon Prioleau, Sr.; his brothers, Zion Benson and Damari Prioleau, both of Summerville, SC; his loving grandmother, Virginia Prioleau; and his caring grandfather, Anthony Brown, Sr., both of North Charleston, SC.

He also leaves his uncles, Michael (Kiesha) Jones, Jr., Rashaam “Boo” McGill, Duane (Latoya) McGill, Curtis (Diane) McGill, Kevin McGill, Rodney( Ebony) Prioleau, Jr., Orlando Prioleau, both of North Charleston and Richard Smith, Jr. of Syracuse, NY; great-granduncles, James (Cynthia) McGill and Blease Herman (Ruth) Green; aunts, Jackie McGill, Lorraine (Gino) Soule, Shirley Rioos, Diana Rioos, Annette Montgomery, and Debra (Ollie) Rivers; great-grandaunts, Florence Smalls, Cynthia Holmes, Deborah (Robert) Smalls, and Nora Lane Benbow, Cecelia (Ted) Pinckney of Mt. Pleasant, Gwendolyn (Michael) Johnson of Summerville, Helena Pinckney of Ladson, and Elizabeth Lee of James Island; along with a host of cousins, friends, and other relatives who will forever cherish his memory.

Though his time with us was far too short, Ian’s love, smile, and memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
