James Burch Jackson, Jr., 57, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 4, 1968, in Charleston, SC, James was the beloved son of the late James Burch Jackson, Sr. and Doris C. Jackson.

James was raised in Mt. Pleasant, SC, where he graduated from Wando High School in 1986. During his high school years, he met the love of his life, Ms. Sharon Alexander. Their bond was immediate and enduring. On November 22, 1986, James and Sharon were united in marriage, beginning a beautiful journey that lasted 39 devoted years.

After graduating, James enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for two years. Upon returning home, he worked with several organizations throughout the greater Charleston area before becoming a member of the International Longshoremen’s Association Local Union #1422, where he later retired.

James was a man full of life, joy, and generosity. He never met a stranger—every encounter became a friendship. His greatest joy was his grandsons, Jamari (“Nuggie”) and Treyson (“Nugget”), who lit up his world. He adored his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.

He will be remembered for his love, laughter, and big heart. To those who knew him, James was the best husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His passing leaves a profound gap in the hearts of his family and all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doris C. Jackson and James B. Jackson, Sr., and his parents‑in‑law, Patricia A. Williams and Kenneth Miller.

James’s uplifting spirit and love for family will forever live on in the hearts of those who survive him: his devoted wife, Sharon Jackson; his children, Patrice L. Jackson and James B. Jackson III (Alexandria); his treasured grandchildren, Jamari Landen Jackson and Treyson Ayden Scriven; his brother, Jermaine Eric Jackson; his aunt, Evelyn Margie Coaxum and his uncles, Jack Coaxum (Alfredia) and Moses Jackson; his sisters‑in‑law, Denise Major (Mark), Adriene Dixon, and Belinda Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special friends.

James’s legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering love will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
