In an old English churchyard there is an inscription: "Who plucked that flower," cried the gardener, as he walked through the garden. His fellow servant answered, "THE MASTER! And the gardener held his peace.
God's garden had need of a little flower,
It had grown for a time here below,
But in tender love He it took it above
In a lovelier garden to grow.
Without warning death plucked a flower from our garden on April 1, 2016 in Summerville, SC and our beloved Jasmine Mercedes Reid was called from earth to Heaven's reward. Jasmine was born on March 18, 1991 in Charleston, SC to Julius Reid and Latrisha Pittman Reid.
Jasmine graduated from Stratford High School , a proud member of the Class of 2009, where she was a member of the High School Choir and Band. In 2015, she realized her music dream and graduated from Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry, where she was a member of the Music Industry Ensemble. Jasmine was currently pursuing her dream, of recording music.
Her life was full, rich and happy. Jasmine has a great passion for singing; she played the saxophone and piano, and loved to write poems and song lyrics. She traveled abroad and loved spending time downtown Charleston, learning the history of the city.
Perhaps, sometimes, in quiet hours,
We shall notice its sweet perfume
Steal softly down from the heavenly place,
'til it seems to fill the room.
A life lived as Jasmine's cannot die, but live on in the hearts and memories of her parents Julius and Latrisha; siblings Tyronne Pittman, Rockim Pittman and Cherie Reid; grandmothers Juanita Bell and Estelle Pittman; aunts and uncles Sylvia Pittman, Winfred Tompkins, Karen Reid, Keith (Constance) Reid, Alonzo Reid, Ronald (Jennifer) Reid, , Marlin Reid; cousins Kimberly Lorick, Kristopher Linder, Caleb Reid, Karsten Reid, Tawanna Sanders, Alonzo Reid, Najae Reid, Alondrea Reid, Deoshanae Reid, Ashley Reid, Alexis Reid, Austin Reid , Denzel Reid, Daniel Miller, Zara Reid and other relatives and friends.
Then the earthly spot will seem less bare
As we think of the time to come,
When we shall enter the garden fair,
And find our transplanted bloom
