Joseph Williams (Greasy) was born April 16, 1945 to the late Lonnie Kitt and Rosa Williams in Summerville, SC. Joseph departed this life on March 9, 2023 at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. Joseph attended Alston High School in Summerville, SC. He came to New York City when he was twenty years old and started driving a taxi which he owned. He was a dedicated employee for the New York City Housing Authority for twenty-six years where he retired. Joseph loved bowling, music, cooking, sports, and spending time with his family on the grill. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie Kitt and Rosa Williams of Summerville, SC; his sister Eartha Lee Williams (Ellington) of Summerville, SC; his brother Howard Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory, ex-wife Mary Ann Mulligan of Dale, SC; his children; Tiffany(Eric)Bradshaw, Denise Williams, and Joseph Williams, Jr.; step-son Vincent Mulligan; his grandchildren Tyquana Stuckey, Erika Bradshaw, and Eric Bradshaw Jr., his grandmother Hattie Williams; his sister; Shirley Ellington (Willie Clay) and Barbara (William) Faults; brother Wesley (Ethel) Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is gone but his memory will forever live in his children.
