Mrs. Julia Beatrice(Simmons) Varner was born in Berkeley County, Moncks Corner, South Carolina on September 5, 1926 to Jeff Simmons and Annette Morton. On Thursday March 2, 2023 she gained her wings at 245Tall Pines Road, Ladson, SC Julia was raised in a loving Christian home, where she accepted Christ at an early age under the influence of her father and mother. Julie attended Berkeley County school district, then in 1943 she joined in holy matrimony to Arthur P. Varner. They were blessed with five daughters and five sons. Julie enjoyed spending time with her family whether it be sharing stories of old times or just cooking together with laughter and joy. She also loved gardening. She would always share the bounty of her crops with family and friends. Julie was preceded in death by her newborn son, Thomas and daughters Ethel and Beverly Green. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters Bernice Varner Bryant, Jennetta (V) Shepard, Erma Varner Harrell; sons, Arthur L.(Vicky) Varner, Melton(Tammy) Varner, Gregory(Linda) Varner, Raliegh (Cassandra) Varner; sisters Priscilla (Charlie)Simmons, Herlina Salley and Dethair Varner; One brother Virgil(Adel) Simmons, grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, an extended family and friends. Special thanks to her sister Dethair Varner.
