Laura Mae Andrews Mitchell was born on October 14, 1947 in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Matthew Mitchell and Elizabeth Voudreaux Mitchell. Laura received her education in the Louisiana public school system. Laura had a sweet quiet spirit and loved helping people. Lauraworked as a CNA Home Health Aide before retiring. On August 07, 2025, at The Oakbrook Rehabilitation Center in Summerville, SC surrounded by her family, Laura yielded the voice of the Master and went home to be with the Lord.

Laura leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: a loving husband, Deacon Amos Mitchell; sons; John (Dawn) Andrews, Matthew (Courtney) Andrews of Goose Creek, SC; her grandchildren; Jade and Unique Andrews of Goose Creek, SC, step-children; Joy Lafaye Mitchell and Henry Deshay Sands, both of Orlando Florida; her brothers; Curtis (Joyce) Mitchell of San Diego, California and Joseph Mitchell of Lake Arthur, Louisiana; a devoted cousin; Mary Jean Lewis Batiste of Lake Charles, LA, a loving and loyal friend; Deana Hawkins of Jacksonville, NC, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
