Obituary

Leroy Jamison, Sr. was born in Summerville, South Carolina, on Wednesday, June 7,1950, to the late Rosa and Cicero Jamison, Sr. He passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Jamison received his education in the Dorchester County public school system and graduated from Alston High School, Summerville, in 1968. Following graduatic)n, he relocated to New York, where he established his home and raised his family Despite encountering numerous health challenges throughout his life, Mr. Jamison demonstrated resilience and perseverance. He was employed with Long Island Screen Printing for many years, contributing his skills to the production of screen-printecl items, wallpaper, custom shirts, caps, and related products. Mr. Jamison was known for his gentle demeanor, devotion to his family, and enthusiasm for dancing. A person of faith, Mr. Jamison was a dedicated member of Faith Temple COGIC in Amityville, New York, under the leadership of retired Pastor Peter Jamison. Upon returning to South Carolina three years ago, he became an active attendee of St. Luke Baptist Church, guided by retired Pastor Luther Williams, Jr" and later by Reverend Dr. Rayford Brown, Sr. Mr. Jamison was preceded by his parents, Rosa and Cicero Jamison, Sr., and by his siblings Phillip Jamison, Sr., Harold Jamison, Sr., Bertha Mae Desaussure, Ci.cero Jamison, Sr., Thomas Griffin, and Timothy Grow. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jamison; his son, Leroy Jamison, Jr" who lives in Amityville, NY; his grandchildren; and several siblings, including Peggy Edge (Curtis), with whom he lived when he returned to South Carolina, Inez Murray (Vernette) in Florida, Raffeq Jamison (Annette) in New York, Annette Bosede, and Dianne Wescott. He is warmly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members.
