Obituary

As sure as the Psalmist declared, "the fruit of the womb is a reward of the Lord", Lindy Miller was born a blessing on January 28, 1953 in Summerville, South Carolina. Raised in prudent and humble fashion, her parents Landy and Elnora Mazyck Miller knew she was destined for great things. Upon completing her set full life, her work on earth completed, she entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2015 at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Her journey would not have been complete without solid preparation. She was educated in the Public Schools, graduating from Summerville High School with The Mighty Class of 1971. She also testified of being an Honors Graduate from The University of Hard Knocks! Always striving to be productive, she was gainfully employed through life beginning as a Piece Worker in a North Charleston factory, then to Visions Social Club. Pressing upward, she tapped into her gifts with grace and managed The Lollipops and Roses Day Care Center while studying for more. She later maintained a dual career as a Shadower at Knightsville Elementary School where she was until her transition and simultaneously as a Direct Support for Dorchester County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs from where she retired March 7, 2015. She made a difference everywhere her presence was experienced. The same was in her love and concern for the community, shown through her involvement with the NAACP, District 1 Civic Association, and to any call to aid children or youth to a positive and productive life. To these she gave her support and resources to the end Her walk in the faith no different. Her parents raised her in the Brownsville Community Church of God and a solid unwavering faith was established. Yes, life and its temptations offered many challenges along the journey but God kept her, never falling off the foundation set. She later joined the Baum's Temple A.M.E. Zion Church where she was very active in ministry and developed in her spiritual walk the deeper. She served in the Gospel Choir, Board of Christian Education, and as President of Stewardess Board # 2. Convicted and led of God she became a Charter Member of Blessed Vision Ministry of Summerville and there as an Usher, Education Advocate, Stewardess, and Deaconess-Elect worked out her soul salvation til her earthly end. She was preceded in death by her parents, Landy and Elnora Mazyck Miller, natural maternal Grandparents, Lillie T and David Williams, Sr, Aunts Mary Mazyck, Sylena M. Greene, Uncles George Mazyck, Herbert Mazyck, and Arthur Mazyck, and dear friend Joann Mallard. She leaves to carry forth the legacy of her faith; her natural mother, Mary E. Robinson, Bronx, NY; sister, Christine Robinson, and brothers Henry Robinson, Jr. and Dereck Robinson all of the Bronx, NY; aunts, Lillian (Samuel) Johnson, Bronx, NY, and Emily (Sandy) Holmes of Stone Mountain, GA, uncles, Charles Williams, Brooklyn, NY, Thomas H (Katie) Williams, Orangeburg, SC, David (Jenette) Williams, Stone Mountain, GA, her "Sistars', a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and a true myriad of Friends..........
