Mabell Elnora Mitchell Williams was born in the Givhans section of Dorchester county to the late General Mitchell and Ellen Geddis Mitchell on April 9, 1928. On February 28, 1948, she was joined in holy matrimony to Kitt Williams. From this union they were blessed with six children. During their early years of marriage Kitt and Mabell moved to Miami, Florida and later returned back to Summerville, SouthCarolina. Kitt passed away on September 12, 2002, after 54 years of marriage. Mabell was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the interests of her family first. Mabell was educated in the Dorchester County Public school system. From an early age Mabell accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and she joined her beloved Canaan United Methodist Church. She served on the Stewardess Board and with the United Methodist Women. Alongside her husband, Kitt, they were timely and the first to arrive at every church service. They faithfully attended Bible studies on Wednesdays and annual conferences.
Mabell was known for her love of fishing and cooking. The Lord called Mabell to take her final rest on Sunday, May 18, 2025 transitioning peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
Mabell was preceded in death by her husband Kitt Williams, son Kitt Williams Jr., and siblings; Jesse Mitchell, Edgar Mitchell, Verdell Mosley, Albert Mitchell, and a host of beloved brother and sister in-laws.
Mabell leaves to cherish her loving memories: Her five daughters, Mary E. Ladson, Joandell Remsey, Cynthia Williams, Annette Edwards, and Claretta Williams; seven grandchildren; Gina Oliver (Moses), AnnMarie Thomas, Walter Remsey, Jason Remsey, Christina Edwards, Napiya Nubuya, and Jonathan Williams. Eight great-grandchildren Adrian Oliver, Quinton Oliver(Alexus), Wyatt Oliver, Xavier Gadsden, Alexiya Gadsden, Leona Remsey, Deonna Remsey, and Elony Remsey. Four great-great grandchildren Mason, Bryson, Lauryn, and Leila. One brother-in-law James Williams(Melveria) and one sister-in-law Evelyn(Ivey) Carswell and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special friends Ms. Eliza Foy and Ms. Altowease Simmons.
