Mr. Mannie "Tamp" Green Jr. was born on July 3, 1955, in Parker's Ferry, South Carolina, to the late Mannie Green Sr. and Emily Smalls Green. He received his education through Charleston County Public Schools before moving to New York City at the age of seventeen. Later, he made his home in Lancaster, South Carolina, where he learned the trade of brick masonry.

To know Mannie was to know someone who lived life at his own peaceful pace. He was a quiet observer, a natural peacemaker, and someone who rarely sought attention. His calm spirit, gentle smile, and sense of humor made people feel comfortable in his presence. Whether sitting around at a family cookout, enjoying conversations with loved ones, watching his favorite sports teams, or enjoying classic Westerns. Mannie appreciated life's simple moments.

Above all, Mannie loved the Lord. His faith was not something he simply spoke about. It was something he lived. Throughout the years, he faithfully attended church, worshipping in Baptist churches and later at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ladson, South Carolina. He enjoyed Bible study, loved learning God's Word, and believed in living with humility, kindness, and respect for others. His relationship with God guided the way he treated people and the way he lived each day.

On July 8, 2026, God called Mannie home to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his father, Mannie Green Sr., and his three sisters, Deborah Green, Cheryl Green, and Evette Green.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Emily S. Green; his daughters, Tanya Frasier (Derrick) of Walterboro, South Carolina, and Jada Green of Maryland; his beloved grandchildren, Desha Frasier, Deonna Frasier, and great grandson Drace Stephens; his six brothers, Leon Green (Ernestine), Samuel Sparing, Ray Green (Margie), Ervin Green (Jeannette), Ricky "Fox" Green (Lynette), and Darryl Green (Miranda); his three sisters, Karen Green, Evahn Green, and Stephanie Butler; his special nephew, Andy Butler; his beloved aunt, Varnell Smalls; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Though his voice is now silent, Mannie's quiet faith, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
