Obituary
Margaret was born May 29, 1927 to the late Moses and Beulah Shepherd in Summerville, SC. On Monday, November 12, 2018, she answered the Master's Call at her daughter's home in Augusta, GA.
Margaret was educated in the public schools of the Dorchester County School System.
Margaret accepted Christ as her Savior and attended Ashley Baptist Church with her family where she worked on the Missionary Board and served as the President for several years. Margaret was also a member of the choir. Later years, Margaret moved her membership to New Ashley Baptist church where she served on the Missionary Board.
She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and crocheting. Margaret loved nature and she loved to garden. Every morning her plants would hear her say, "Good morning, ladies." and her plants would thrive.
Margaret found delight in helping Meals on Wheels delivering food to other seniors who could not make it to the Senior Citizens Center. Helping and encouraging others was part of who she was. If she was asked who she believed in, that person left knowing that Margaret had her hopes and beliefs in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Margaret is preceded in death by her son Isaac Washington and brother Leroy Shepherd, Roosevelt Shepherd and Ossie Shepherd.
She leaves to cherish her memories Howard (Martha) Shepherd of Atlanta, GA, John (Orasa) Washington of Hephzibah, GA, Eu-gene Washington of Summerville, SC, Carolyn Washington of Augusta, GA, Sandra Washington of Goose Creek, SC and Henrietta Goolsby (Kerry) of O'Fallon, IL; sister of Virginia ( the late David) Rivers of Summerville, SC, Moses (the late Shirley) Shepherd of Newark, New Jersey, Beulah Mae Cordes Jamaica, NY and Henrietta (the late Bill) Nivens of Cottageville, SC; sister-in-law Henrietta Shepherd of Columbia, SC and Vernell Shepherd of Summerville, SC. A host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will love and cherish her memories.
