Marvin Edwards Sr . was born June 22nd 1940, the fifth child of the late James Edwards and late Nora Simmons Edwards of Summerville, SC. He graduated Alston High. Marvin met and married Pearl Ester Williams, and they were together 63 years and 11 months. To the union they have two sons, a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons. Boy, was he blessed! Marvin joined Canaan United Methodist church in 1963. He gave his life to Christ at a summer revival with the late Reverend Gathers. Although, he worked Sundays he still made a point to be committed in the church. He attended Sunday school, he sang on 3 choirs, he was a class leader, and just ready to assist wherever he could. His hobby after retiring was growing fruits and vegetables at his shop, which was known as "Marvin's fresh fruits and vegetables". Marvin was a such a family man. He loved spending time with his family and traveling. His love, laughter, jokes, wisdom, guidance, and presence will truly be missed.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his devoted and loving wife Pearl Esther, his pride and joy sons Mavin Edwards Jr., Darnell and (Raeanna), the mother of his granddaughters Rhonda, beloved and cherished granddaughters Arbriana and Chelsea, his companions while he was sick, great-grandsons Ayden and Amir, his companion upon entering his life devoted twin sister Mary Gattis of Long Island New York, his devoted sisters in laws Annie Ackerman, Delores Simmons, Patricia Harper, Cynthia Hicks, Christine Williams, Illa Edwards and Esther Edwards one aunt Daisey Limehouse, and special niece Hydea Williams Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Advisor, special nephew Quincy Gattis, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and customers of his fruit and vegetable shop.
On behalf of the family, we encourage you to share your personal experiences and preserve the memory of Mr .Marvin Edwards for future generations to come.
