"Sunday, December 6, 2020 may have been "just' another day in the life of my family and friends, but at 10:30 p.m., I met my wonderful Savior Jesus Christ, my comforter, my redeemer face to face. I faced each day with faith, joy and love. My struggle is over, my soul is resting..... I AM FREE!!!!" Mrs. Mattie Mae Bannister was born on November 7, 1941 to the late Asbury and Elease Rumph of Dorchester, SC.
In the year of 1959 Mattie was united into holy matrimony to the late Earnest Bannister. To this union, they were blessed with six beautiful children. Mattie was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children: Madeline Delee, Sharon (Earl) Miller, Arnella (Pastor Randy Simmons), Pamela (Quinten) Berry and Tr. Deaconess Devra Rumph. Her grandchildren: Shida, Sierra (Antwain)Turner, Stephon, Darius, Shayla, Christopher, Sharanda, Jada, Asia, and Aaliyah. Her great grandchildren: Samara, Amir, Stephon Jr. Her siblings: General Elder George (Deaconess Ruthie Mae) Rumph, and Deloris Kenley. Special and devoted friends: Minister Ann Marie Spells and Evelyn Gadsden. A host of relatives and friends. Those who preceded her in death, her beloved sister: Shirley Bennett, her beloved son: Earnest Bannister Jr., and her beloved grandson, Earl "EJ" Miller.
