Obituary

Maureen Goff embarked on her greatest journey, which is a remarkable earthly life that w very honored to witness, and be a part of. On Monday, April 13, 2026, Maureen departed this life. Maureen will remain with each and every one of us in our hearts.

Born on July 6, 1965, to Lillian Goff Brown and Maurice V. Goff, in Brooklyn, New York, Maureen entered this world filled with curiosity, a deep sense of compassion and empathy for others, a drive to have impact on the world, and an energy for discovery and serving others.

Preceding her transition, Maureen's son, DuJuan "DJ" Goff, departed this earthly existence.

While Maureen was an only child to her parents, she was a sister, on so many levels, to her cousins, friends and neighbors. Always wise, beyond her age, she is remembered for being cautious and providing the same guidance to others, doused with a little spontaneity as well. She lit up every room with her beautiful smile and graceful presence, without any effort or pretense. Her love for her mother, and her mother's love for her, was without question throughout this life's journey and will transcend it.

Maureen was a child of the church and God, unequivocally. Her devotion was unquestionable as she dedicated every day of her life to serving the church and the broader community it serves. She was always of and in service to others.

Maureen excelled academically and professionally. A licensed Certified Public Accountant, Maureen traversed through the banking industry with ease, as a direct result of her remarkable business acumen. She graduated, with honors, from Trident Technical College, obtaining this certification. Maureen worked for Cooper River Federal Savings Bank, First Federal Bank and Kmart Corporation, for numerous decades, focusing on accounting, customer banking transactions and customer care. She was loved and respected, by her colleagues, for her knowledge, professionalism and compassion for both those that she worked with and served.

Maureen was an avid volunteer, dedicating many years of services to the House of God Church, in Ridgeville, South Carolina, as a videographer. Maureen produced, recorded and edited videos for the church, memorializing historical and community events and services. She provided the same volunteer service to Anointed Light Church, in Eutawville, South Carolina, where she was, most recently, a member.

Maureen supported numerous landmark causes, volunteering for the March of Dimes, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Crisis Ministry, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Foundation. Maureen always recognized the importance of giving back and supporting those that were most vulnerable.

Maureen leaves behind her Mother, Lillian Goff Brown; Father, Maurice V. Goff; Sister, Charis Goff: Love Sister, Kimberly Carter, Godson, JaeVon "J" Stanley; and a loving host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Church Family, and Friends.

While Maureen is embarking on a new journey that will not allow her physical presence to be with us, the impact that she has had will have an indelible impact on the lives of many. Her legacy is before us, and she adeptly presented it in a manner that will allow us to nurture her seeds and to elevate her great deeds even further. The torch has been passed.
