Melvin Boyd Sr . was born on Tuesday, July 06, 1948 in Columbia, SC. He was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on February 16, 2008 and fell asleep in death on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Melvin was preceded in death by his mother Prudence Naomi Boyd Williams, and two brothers Joseph Lee Williams, Jr. and David Williams.

Mr. Melvin Boyd Sr. is survived by his wife Geneva Boyd; his children Odesser Boyd and Melvin Boyd, Jr.; His stepchildren, Oscar Glover, Patrick Glover, Donell Glover, Genetta Glover Williams(Robbie), Patricia Glover Lewis(Tony); His brother; Emmanuel Williams and Tony Williams; His sisters, Zenobia Hickman(James), Prunell Williams(Horace), Debra Myers(Calvin), Bridgette Park, and Angela Williams; His grandchild, a host of other loving relatives, and caring friends.

Melvin was aided to the truth by dear friend and spiritual father Brother Stanley Bowers. Melvin later became a Jehovah's Witness and was blessed to have many loving spiritual friends. With these friends he shared in good times and fond memories enjoying association after Sunday meeting playing cards. We look forward to seeing him again and enjoying fellowship and laughter.
