Reverend Bellinger Whipper Grant Folk Jr, was born on August 31, 1941 to the late Bellinger and Eugenia Folk. Bellinger was a 1961 graduate of Kennedy High School. Bellinger became a loyal and dedicated member of Elem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully as a choir member, trustee, and Deacon. Later in life he was called by God into the ministry and became a license minister under the leadership of Reverend McKinley Ravenell on Sunday November 10, 2002. Pastoring Galilee Missionary Church, in Round O, SC & St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Reesesville, SC. Reverend Folk was a lead singer and guitarist for The Friendly Gospel Singers and Gospelettes.
Rev. Folk was employed by Salisbury Brickyard (Summerville, SC),StarRedi Mix (Harleyville, SC), he later retired from Blue Circle Cement Plant (Harleyville, SC). On November 24, 1962 he was joined in Holy wedlock to the Former Hattie Mae White to this union five children were born. On Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 12:13 A.M.
Bellinger quietly departed his earthly life. His son, John Folk Sr. preceded him in death.
He leaves a rich and spiritual legacy to be cherished in the hearts and mind of his dedicated and beloved wife Hattie Mae Folk. Four children: Jacqueline (Ernest) Watson of Summerville, SC, Tracy (Don) Delee, of Dorchester, SC, Bellinger (Sharonda) Folk Ill of Columbia, SC & Elder Shawn Folk of the home. Nine grandchildren, Ernest Jr., Shaneise, Quo’Tonya, Dondrelle, John John, Asia, Michael, Jonnae, and Jordan. Twelve Great-Grandchildren, Denzel, Damani, Jayceon, Trinity, Kyro, Levi, McKen zie, Mansa, Zariah, Ava, Ilynn & Gianna God Children: Carrie Smalls and chil dren Vernesa Smalls, Malia Zeigler. One Daughter- In - Law Angela Folk, One Sister- In - Law Ernetha Folk. Two special nieces: Esther (Raymond) Camp bell, and Mildred Tucker (Summerville, SC). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
