With heavy hearts, we announce that Sandra Elaine Wright has transitioned to her eternal spiritual home. Surrounded by love in her final days, she left this world peacefully and in the comfort of her home on April 15, 2026.

Born on January 4, 1954, to William “Willie” Lee and Mary Louise Wright in Charleston, SC, Sandra was the second eldest of six children and the matriarch of her family. She graduated from C.A. Brown High School in 1972. Sandra began her career with MUSC as a Pharmacy Technician, caring for patients and delivering medication for many years. She was also licensed as a master cosmetologist and barber by trade, and she served as a caregiver and a dedicated parent, sister, and rare friend to many.

She is survived by her two children, David and Lindsey Russell (Ocean); six grandchildren, Bryane (Josh), Keara (Kamari), Travonte, David, Dominic, and Leilani; and two greatgrandchildren, Layla and Violet. She is also survived by three sisters, Collette, Karen, and Debra “Debbie” (Fritz); two brothers, William “Bill” (Donna) and Daryle; nieces Tiffany (Norin), Latanja “Bunny” (Marcus), Keyerra “Missy,” and Danielle; nephews Kevin (Dionne), Derek (Keisha), Keyvonne “Tonio,” Tremaine, Aaron, Ahmad, and Akeem; greatnieces Kairah, Olivia, Camariah “Mar,” and Camaryn “Cammie”; greatnephews Kyler, Keyvonne “Billy,” Derek Jr., Myles, and Isaah; cousins Orabelle, Chenita, Randy, Leon, Richard, Mary, Juanita, and Valarie; and special friends and “sisters” Dianne, Waynette, and Bridgette (Theo).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mary; her eldest son, Captain Terrance Wright; her niece, Stephanie Wright; and many cherished loved ones and friends who were waiting to usher her across the threshold into Heaven’s gates.
