Stephanie Ann Haigood was born June 18, 1957, in Norfolk, Virgina to the late Claretta Greene and John Henry Haigood.
She graduated from freeport High School, Freeport, N.Y. and Nassau Community College, Garden City New York.
After decades of dedicated services to the Merrick School District, Stephanie retired from her role as a beloved Special Education Teacher. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to her students. Her legacy of kindness and advocacy will be remembered by all who as the privilege of knowing her.
She was a member of Zion Cathedral C.O.G.I.C in Freeport, N.Y.
On Saturday April 18, 2026, at Roper St. Francis Berkley hospital Goose Creek, SC.
God called her to his great reward, she said “Now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me”. God wanted me now and he has set me free.
Those who will cherish sweet memories are her loving aunt Jennie McCants of Ridgeville, SC two sons Mr. Shawn (Kayla) Robinson of Kathleen, Georgia, Shannon Robinson-Funny, of Kernersville, SC. Daughter Sherika Johnson of Portsmouth, Virgina. Sister Sylena Hill of Summerville, SC.
She has ten grandchildren Ja’aziel, Amir, Corey, Bryson, A’lora, Eliana, Olivia, Julian, Khamrie, and King. Four God children Keith, Rakea, Satyjia and Tay’veon. Glenda Wheat and Carla Moore’s sister/cousin. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
