Sergeant Major Victor Williams (Retired) was born in St. Croix, Virgin Islands and raised in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He was the son of the late Valdamar Williams and Loretta Barry. He was the youngest of four children. He began his early education in St. Thomas, finishing his schooling after enlisting in the United States Army in 1954. On February 2, 1961 in Philadelphia, he met his soon-to-be wife Innise Rainey, and after several letters and one date they were married December 24, 1961. This union resulted in three children after years of living a military lifestyle all over the United States. After a 30-year career in the military, he retired in November 1984 when they decided to relocate to Summerville, South Carolina. He furthered his career by becoming a local and then long-distance truck driver. He retired again after several years and followed in the footsteps of Tiger Woods chasing a ball around the green. Although, Victor was preceded in death by his parents, some siblings and one son Deon, he is survived by his loving wife, Innise of Summerville, and children Wayne of Summerville, daughter-in-law Natasha of Goose Creek, and Tawyna (James Brown) of Goose Creek, one surviving brother Vernon Jackson (Ruth) also of Goose Creek, one daughter-in-law Natasha; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 nieces, 4 nephews and a host of other relatives, friends (including two special friends Harold Smalls of Ladson and Henry "Hank" Pinckney of N. Charleston), and military counterparts.
