IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia
Jenkins
June 28, 2018
"Yes we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
II Corinthians 5:8
On June 28, 2018, Virginia answered the Master's Call.
Virginia was born on September 28, 1938 to the late Mr. Lazzie and Mrs. Della Bannister. She grew up in Ridgeville and Charleston, SC.
She received her education and then married her childhood sweetheart, the late Nathaniel Jenkins. To this union of love, they were blessed with two sons, Anthony and Shawn Jenkins.
Virginia and Nathaniel would make New York their home for over 60 years and return back to their roots in South Carolina. While in New York, Virginia would work at Catholic Charities for twety0five years as a residential nurse.
Those who have preceded Virginia in death, her parents, her husband and one son Shawn, but those left here to cherish her love and memories, one son Anthony "Tony' Jenkins; sisters Roberta Simmons of Charleston, SC and Audrey Hunt of Summerville, SC, one who was raised in the same house with her Emma Kennerly of Ridgeville, SC; sisters and brothers-in-law Ivy (Saintclair) Williams, Vertilee (Eddie) McQueen, Cynthia (Willie) Glenn,
Alfred (Rena) Jenkins, Larrie (Rebecca) Jenkins, Dr. Kenneth (The Honorable Judge Jackie) Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He called and I answered.
My love for Him is greater.
Be strong my loved ones for
My work down here is done!
"I'm on my way Home!"
