Obituary

Yolanda "LuLu" James was born in Summerville, SC on March 10, 1947 to the late Raymond and Lucender Hughes. Lulu received her education in the Dorchester County School District. LuLu was joined in holy matrimony to the late Louis "Pa" Saul James, and to this union four children were born. Lulu was a loving and devoted mother, the lifeline for her children and did any and everything to make sure they were always good. Lulu would feed the world all through her front door, while talking trash the entire time! LuLu was a once in lifetime woman, who helped to raise all of her nieces and nephews, who she potty trained in one day. There was never a dull moment in her presence and she would dance to her own beat, rather you liked it or not. Her siblings will remember that she was fearless and she would tell them that she was going to have her good time and face the consequences later. LuLu was employed at Linq in Jedburg, SC for 12+ years a weaver, fork lift operator and fabricator. One of her many talents and hobbies was cooking and baking. We will forever miss her tuna salad, lima beans, fried chicken, potato salad and strawberry and rum cakes, just to name a few of her special dishes that she would make for us any time we asked her. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jason James. LuLu leaves to mourn her passing her devoted children: Tony LaTroy James; Louis Reginald James, Sacco James and April James all of Summerville, South Carolina. Siblings: Bobby Gene Hughes (Goose Creek, SC); Vera Mae Milligan (Moncks Corner), Ina Faye Hughes (Summerville, SC), Helen Boyd (Summerville, SC) and Pamular (Fred) Caviness (Summerville, SC). Grandchildren: Whitney, Allanah  Jason (who preceded her in death); great-grandchildren A'Niyah and Little Miss Jenesis James; and a special little nephew Chance Caviness and special little niece Denver Wilson, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

On behalf of the family, we encourage you to share your personal experiences and preserve the memory of Mrs. Yolanda James for future generations to come.
