David Washington, was born in Holly Hill, SC. on March 25,1949 to the late Brutus and Daisy Washington. He was one of nine siblings and three of them preceded him in death: Raymond Washington, Brutus Washington, Jr, and Elizabeth Gadson. David received his education in the public schools of Orangeburg County. He was graduate of Roberts High School, Class of 1968, where he tapped into his love for baseball. He was employed with Giant Cement for many years and the Tire Repair Center. At an early age he joined the Greater Unity AME church where he tapped into his love of singing on the Male Chorus. In 1971, David married Bertha Adams, to this union four children were born. He was preceded in death his son, Spencer. He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, Bertha Washington. Two sons, Toneyo Green (Alice Clarke) and Chris (Natalie) Washington. Three daughters, Angela (Willie) Sumpter, Tammie (Troy) Johnson, Chiquita (Monroe) Fields. A daughter in law, Sylvia Harris. His siblings, Robert L (Shirley) Washington, Ezekiel Washington, Magdaline (Vincent) Mitchell. Nathaniel Washington, Joyce Dawson, His grandchildren, Kayrez, Zeylyn, Charles, Ch’Hara, Eric, Kepha, Kendall, Angel, Jonathan, Charity, Jaleel, Jamari, Aniyah, Jackson. Fifteen Great-Grandchildren. His in laws, Arthur (Loretha) Gardner, Raymond (Margaret) Gardner, Barbara Mack, Patsy (John) Williams, Herbert (Genine) Gardner, David Gardner, Archie (Patsy) Gardner, Bevealine Gardner, and Jason Gardner. His Caregiver, Crystal Jefferson and extended family at Lucille’s Place, cousins, relatives and friends.
