Dwayne Mitchell Obituary

Dwayne was born in Brooklyn, New York, October 10, 1979, and moved to South Carolina in September 1982. He was a member of Greater New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church and a member of class number three. When he was able to attend church, he enjoyed it very much especially the music. Dwayne attended Mary Ford Elementary School in Charleston County School District, Alston Middle School and Graduated from Fort Dorchester High School both in Dorchester School District Two. During the summer months from ages 10 to age 16, Dwayne attended Camp Burnt Gin in Sumter, South Carolina. After graduating, he attended Venture Workshop with the Board of Disabilities and Special Needs until he became ill in March 2020. He was proceeded in death - by his grandparents -the late Robert Mitchell and the late John C. and Maxine Ferrell, an aunt, Barbara Mitchell, and uncle, Eugene Ferrell. To cherish the joys of Dwayne& memories are his loving, caring, faithful parents Rena Mitchell Ferrell and Malcolm K. Ferrell of Ridgeville, South Carolina. Grandmother Emma S. Mitchell of John Island, South Carolina. To cherish those same memories are his loving aunts and uncles: Celia Mitchell (Homer) of John Island, South Carolina; Carol Mitchell of West Ashley, South Carolina; Harriett Ferrell (Bernard) of Ridgeville, South Carolina; Cassandra Hunt (Apostle Joseph, Jr.) of John Island, South; Carolina Mary Cohen (Vernon) of West Ashley, South Carolina; Camelia McLain (Randolph) Columbia, South Carolina; Molly Snipes (Michael) of Ridgeville, South Carolina. Uncles: Robert Louis Ferrell (Mary); Harvey Ferrell (Marie); Ulysses Ferrell (Pamela) all of Ridgeville, South Carolina. Great Aunts Phronia Bell Sanders of Ridgeville, South Carolina, and Blanche Ferrell Fowler (Louis) of Summerville, South Carolina and Great Uncle James Mike Ferrell (Vernell) of Harleyville, South Carolina; a host of loving cousins, relatives, and friends.
