Earthalee Garvin

The Late Earthalee Garvin, affectionately called “Ethel”, was born on May 12, 1949, to the Late Arthur Varner, Sr.and Julie Varner. Ethel was born in Grove Hall, South Carolina and attended Berkeley County schools and later, Longridge. Ethel accepted Christ at an early age and attended Trinity Holiness Church. Later she joined St. James, where she sang on the choir. She then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio marrying Joseph Williams, Sr. and resided for twelve years. While in Ohio she gave birth to one child Joseph Almealiao Williams Jr. Ethel worked at a Dry Cleaner for several years. She then returned to South Carolina and rejoined St. James Church and worked at Moncks Corner Dry Cleaners for years, later she began her career at Google in Moncks Corner. In the late 90’s, Ethel received a certificate for sewing arts and crafts. She loved to redesign things and make them her own. From floral arrangements and gardening to making jewelry, she enjoyed putting things together. Ethel leaves to cherish her memories, her mother; Julie Varner, son Joseph Almealiao (Vernette) Williams Jr.; grandson, Pharoah Hassen Williams; four sisters; Beverly V. (Harry) Greene, Bernice V. Bryant, Irma Jean (Wardell) Harrell, and Jeanette V. Shepard; four brothers; Arthur P. (Vicki) Varner, Melton (Tammy) Varner, Gregory (Linda) Varner and Raliegh Varner and a host of nieces and nephew’s other relatives and friends..
