On Friday, September 29, 2023 God called home one of his servants and prayer warriors Elizabeth Haigood Linning. Elizabeth was born on November 06, 1942 in Ridgeville, SC to the Late George and Lila Haigood. Elizabeth was one of six children; Martha Ann Johnson and Hattie Lee Felder, and three siblings which preceded her in death Constance H. Simmons, Frona Bell Rhem, and George Haigood Jr.
Elizabeth was educated in Dorchester County School System graduating from Jenkins Hill High School. After graduation, Ms. Linning began her career working at Dorchester County Hospital in housekeeping. Her career continued with Dorchester County School District 2 working with food services until her retirement.
At an early age, Elizabeth gave her life to Christ and became a member of Bethel AME Church in Ridgeville, Sc. After marrying the love of her life, St. Junion H. Linning, in 1968, Sis. Linning became a member of Brownsville Community Church family. Sis. Linning sang in the Mass Choir, served on the Usher Board, and was a valued and dedicated member of the Kitchen Ministry.
Left to cherish Sis. Linning’s memory is her loving husband St. Junion H. Linning; sons Frederick Haigood (Evelyn) of Raeford, NC; Herbert S. Linning(Lorry) of N. Charleston SC; John A. Linning (Jamie) of Summerville; daughter Lakeesha L. Hammond(Howard) of Upper Marlboro MD; and daughter-in-law Wendy Haigood of Ladson, SC; Sis. Linning was preceded in death by her son, Sylvester Haigood. She also leaves to behind a large number of loving brothers-in-law (Joe Felder, William Simmons, Sherman Linning, and Thomas Linning); sisters-in-law (Elease Haigood, Loretta Linning, Mary Linning, Marion Linning, and Jennie Linning); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and amazing relatives, and loyal friends.
Sis. Elizabeth H. Linning was an incredible woman whose abundant love for people was immeasurable and whose gracious spirit made everyone feel welcome.
