“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” (Eccl. 3: 1-2)
Evangelist Innise Williams, affectionately known as Honey, departed this life on February 10, 2024. She was born June 4,1938 in Surry, Virginia to the late Murray Rainey and Merty Ora Walters.
Early on, Innise relocated to Philadelphia, PA with her family. She graduated from Dobbins Vocational High School where she earned her license in Cosmetology in 1955. She later married the love of her life, Victor Williams, in 1961 who preceded her in death.
Innise was baptized at an early age and later joined Abyssinian Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA where she was a faithful and dedicated member for more than 10 years. Innise loved being a member of the Victory Choral Ensemble and led a vigorous church life which was enriched by her usefulness in many activities. She was called to preach and this was where her light truly shined. She further pursued her studies through seminary, as she loved the Lord and wanted to spread the gospel to every and anyone.
In 1985, Innise and her family relocated to Summerville, SC where she attended New Bethel Sounds of Praise. Innise enjoyed enhancing others' beauty and had a passion
for hairstyling. In 1998, she opened her own hair salon.
Innise leaves to mourn her loss but cherish her memories: Wayne Williams of Summerville, SC; Daughter-in-law Natasha (Son Deon preceded her in death) Williams of Goose Creek, SC; Tawyna (James) Williams-Brown of Goose Creek, SC; Nine grandchildren: Tahzai (Mia), Durell, Syvoyia, Jaimie, Amber, James, Deondre, Daylen and Taneah; several great grandchildren, long-time friends Azalee Brown, Janet Ratchford both of Philadelphia, Rose Ludd of North Carolina, and Ann Singleton of Summerville, SC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her entire Sounds of Praise family.
