Inez Johnson

Inez Johnson was called home to our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at her home in Summerville, South Carolina surrounded by family.

Inez was born to the union of the late Charlie Woods and Emily Odessa Hill.  Inez was the seventh born of the nine children. Inez was born and raised in Osage, WVA along with her other siblings.  Inez attended The Church of God in Chaplin, WVA and West Corners Baptist Church, Endicott NY.  Having trusted Christ as her personal Savior she was baptized, and her name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  She attended WVA public schools, then joined Job Corps in 1967 and went to Pennsylvania to study computer assembly for two years.  In 1968 Inez was living in Endicott, NY and working at IBM in Owego, NY.  While working at IBM, Inez met her husband of 50 years, James Allen Johnson.  They married in 1969 in Fairmont, WA and their happy union produced three children; Charles Johnson, wife Jessica; Michael Johnson, wife Alysia and Kimberly Johnson; four grandchildren; Christopher, India, Sole’ Johnson, and Nikki Oyler.

She leaves behind two brothers, Charles Woods of Morgantown, WVA and Robert Woods of Houston, TX, two sisters Mildred Emma Ware of Detroit, MI, and Joyce Woods of Summerville, SC. A host of nieces and nephews.  The siblings who preceded her in death; Barbara Jean Woods, Tommy Wells, Mary Summers and Lawrence Wells. A special thanks to good friends Gary and Maureen Miller and Gloria Chestnut.
