December 6, 1942 ~ July 29, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Obituary

James Duggins Jr., affectionately known as “JD,” was born December 6, 1942, to the late Mr. and Mrs. James Wesley Duggins Sr. and Earmean Duggins. He was the second oldest of six children. James Duggins Jr. was united in holy matrimony to his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Moore-Duggins, on December 21, 1968. Their union was blessed with three beautiful daughters: Priscilla, Tamara, and Stephanie. James lived his life as a devoted son, husband, Father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.  James was educated at Dorchester County Public School District, where he graduated from Kennedy High School. He was employed for many years at RM, where he worked as a machine operator. He then worked in security at Showa Denko Carbon until he dedicated his time to caring for his wife. James accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He was a member of Bethel AME Church Ridgeville, SC., where he served as a senior choir member, class leader, and  Men on a Mission. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, attending the high school basketball games where he would cheer on his granddaughter Alaina, fishing with his Grandson Jayden, hunting, and doing yard work. In his early years, he was an avid baseball player. He loved taking annual family trips and listening to Christmas music. He was known for his warm heart, kind nature, and gentle spirit.  On Saturday, July 29, 2023, he was called home to be an angel in God’s army and to rest because his work here was done. James “JD” Duggins Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Duggins Sr and Earmean Duggins, wife Elizabeth Duggins, brother Cornelius Duggins and his special nephew, Lawrence Duggins. He leaves to cherish his daughters, Priscilla Duggins (Malachi Williams), Tamara Duggins, and Stephanie (Robert) Hardy. His Grandchildren Patrice (Carl Jr.) Felder, James (Latoya) Rumph, and Bruce Rumph Jr. (Shanygne Best), Alaina Duggins, Makaylyn Hardy, and Arriana Hardy; and 11 adoring great-grandchildren; two sisters: Hattie Brown and Carrie Nell Duggins, three brothers: Earnest Lee (Edith) Duggins, and Alonzo (Hattie Lee) Duggins, and sisters-in-law: Mary Julia Brown and Lizzie Mae Davis, and a host of nieces,
