Mrs. Janie Bell Capers, age 91, of Summerville, SC a homemaker and mother of many whose life was centered on family , passed away peacefully with family on November 15, 2022, at her home after a brief illness. Janie was born on December 26, 1930, to lrene and Arthur Pringle of Choppee, SC. Jaine and her siblings grew up in a Christian home and she surrender her life to Christ at an early age at St. Stephens AME Church in Georgetown, SC. She was educated in the public- school system of Georgetown County and graduated from Howard High in 1956, It was in that year that she joined in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart Willie James Sr. Janie opted not to work outside the home. Instead she travel the world, France,Italy, Japan, to name a
few places, with her husband of 65 years. Shortly, after his retiring from the military, they moved to Summerville, SC and joined Baum Temple AME Zion. Janie and Willie Capers were blessed with two amazing children Willie Capers, Jr. and Lesile (Pam)Capers. She dedicated her life to be the central figure in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grands, Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes and that‘s is all that ever mattered to her. Janie was predeceased in death by parents: Irene and Arthur Pringle; Husband, Willie James Capers Sr, children Willie James Capers Jr. and Lesile (Pam) Capers brothers: Arthur (Bob) Pringle, Sam Pringle, Frank Pringle and sisters: Gevenea Lawrence, Mariah Brown, Louise Canteen, Ollie Ladson , several aunts, uncles, several cousins, and dear friends. Janie leaves to cherish fond memories with, five grandchildren: Natalie Capers of Charleston, SC, Kathy Jackson of Summerville, SC, Jeremy Capers Aiken of Atlanta, GA, Kianna Capers of Spartanburg, SC and Nekebia Phillips of Summerville, SC. Two great granddaughters, Sole Boyd of Charleston, SC and Kenishia Williams of Summerville, SC. One great- great grad-daughter Ca’Niyah Williams, two siblings: Mary Lee Smith and Louvenia Gore(Charlie Gore) Georgetown SC. One brother John Pringle (Letha) Georgetown SC. Four sister-in-laws; Dorothy Pringle Georgetown SC and Rosa Lee Pringle Haven CT.. Janie was a mother and grandmother figure to Chloe Brown, Jay’siah Johnson, James Johnson Jr. , and Ashley Goodwin. She will be missed by a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins, In- Law and other long-time family friends.
