Katherine Williams Solomon affectionately known as “Kassie” was the daughter of Hector Williams, Sr. and Rosalee Grant Williams. Kassie was born on May 3, 1928 in Summerville, South Carolina and received her formal education through the Dorchester County District Public Schools.
Kassie ventured out after school and moved to Miami, Florida where she stayed for over 40 years. She was employed at various Miami Beach hotel resorts in housekeeping until she retired and moved back to Summerville, SC.
Kassie became a member of Canaan United Methodist Church where she remained faithful until her illness.
Kassie grew up in a very close family. She really enjoyed all the family gatherings. She was number 5 out of 10 brothers and sisters.
Kassie was definitely known for being free-spirited and quite fashionable. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and always did fun stuff that would make her nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren laugh.
Kassie was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Kitt Williams, Willie Williams, Hector Lee Williams, Fletcher Williams, Heyward Williams and 2 sisters, Eloise Williams Brown, Hazel Williams Gammons.
Kassie loving memory will always be cherished by her family: one son, Alex (Angela) Williams , one daughter, Rose Marie Williams Jenkins; three grandchildren: Ramon Williams, Brandon (Chastity)Williams and Candlysse Jenkins Scott (Gerald) and seven great grandchildren: Johnny Floyd, Brianna Williams, Reagan Williams, Imani Jenkins, Brent Williams , Aaliyah Smith, Justin Williams; one brother, James (Melveria)Williams and one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Williams (Ivey) Carswell , one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mabell Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
