Mother Victoria Hampton Obituary

Mother Victoria Nix Hampton, was a woman of many names, words, expressions.  She was truly a Queen. Mother Hampton was born October 17th 1928 in Givhans, SC to the late Rev. Levi Nix, and Mother Fraseal Bryant Nix. Her formal education took place at the New Hope Grammar school in Givhans where she graduated 7th grade. Her life-long education happened, however through the life of service and love that she extended to her family, church and community at large. Mother Hampton married the late Elder George Hampton in 1942 at the tender age of 14.  To this Union, seven children were born. Mother Hampton’s life of service and love was exemplified through her intimate relationship with Christ and the church. Mother Hampton was an active member in the Disciples of Christ locally and internationally. Serving as a missionary, cook, mentor and friend. She did not miss a Women’s Retreat, she absolutely loved to travel, fellowship and keep the ladies laughing with her uncanny wisdom and wit! Later in life, she joined the The Church House of Ministries Worldwide Organization where her son Gralin
Nix Hampton serves as Bishop. Although she was a member of New Way Church House of Ministries, Worldwide, she served as the Mother of all its congregations and until her health began to fail, she actively participated and interacted with all of the congregations. Mother Hampton was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband George, sons, George Jr., Granville, Andrew, and Leroy; her grandson Levi Roger, and only sister Telestine Robinson. She leaves to cherish and carry on her legacy of love and service her children Gralin (Evelyn) of Summerville, SC, her Tippy, Demetrice (Francis) of Rock Hill, Michael (Lillian) ;sixteen grandchildren, a host of Great, Great-Great Grands, family, and friends.
A life of love and service, well lived.
