On Saturday morning November 21,2020 one we loved and knew stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it was only a step into another room and not stepping out of fellowship of life, it was but stepping into one of the other rooms of our Father’s house. Mr. Raymond Gavins Sr. is in peace with God now, and rejoicing in his happy heavenly home. We must not mourn as those without hope for he has gone to receive the great reward promised to all who serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Raymond Gavins, Sr. affectionally known as” Snoop/ The Mayor” was born September 19,1952 to the late Jessie Gavins Sr. and Betty Mae Pringle Gavins-Young.
Raymond was joined into holy matrimony to the late Flora Taiste-Gavins, the love of his life and to this union they were blessed with (3) three children, Raymond, Jr., Anitra and Tia.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life along with his parents. he was known to make you laugh and have a great time at any event. He was known as the life of the party.
Raymond leaves to cherish and celebrate his life:, three children Raymond Gavins, Jr. Anitra L. Gavins , Tia E. Gavins. his grandchildren Preston Gavins, Aljajuan Gavins-Howard, Ambreyanna Gavins, Xavier Gavins, Paxton Gavins, Maleigha Gavins, Shaniaya Dwight, and King Gaddist; sisters Rosa Nell Murray, Deloris Eadie, Betty Whittaker (Andrew) brother, Jessie Gavins, Jr. (Patricia) adopted siblings Kenny Young and Katie Y. Malone (Micheal) sisters-in-law, Jane Parker, Victoria Wright, Cynthia Gavins, Lula Taiste brother-in-law Addison Murray aunts, Mary Walters (David) Bessie Mae Taiste, a special niece reared in the home Brenda Taiste-Simmons(Alphonso) a special cousin Lille Mae Gavins-Mack. a special niece Loquettia Taiste-Sams. adopted daughters , Ashley Gilliard, Tiffany G. McCray, Danielle G. Davis, Glenda Gilliard, Glenrita Ravenell and Tracey Gavins; a special friend Vanessa Brown along with her daughter Brittany Johnson and grandson Bless Wilson. a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Raymond Gavins Sr. will be held at the Poplar Hill Christian Church on November 28, 2020 at 11:00am.
