The late Ruthie Mae Ford- Davis, was born on April 19, 1948 to the late Gladys McCray Ford and Rogers William Ford. She departed this life on March 19, 2024 at her residence. She was joined in holy matrimony to Lem Davis, Jr., on February 4, 1983. Ruthie graduated from Alston High School in 1967. She retired from Mercy Hospital Center in the Endoscopy Department in Rockville Center, NY after 32 years.
Ruthie was a member of Brownsville Community Church of God until she became ill. She loved to fellowship with her church family.
Ruthie loved watching Westerns, watching Columbo, going to garage sales, shopping at retail stores and the thrift stores. She loved to travel, eating strawberry shortcake, spending time with
her grandchildren and family. Ruthie loved nice things, wearing gold lipstick, and was an immaculate dresser. Everyone loved her seafood salad. She was a natural beauty.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and nine siblings.
Ruthie leaves to cherish her loving and devoted daughter, Pamela Ford (Lamont) Haigood of Ladson, SC; loving son, Quentin Lamar Ford of Fairfax, SC; stepdaughter; Cindy McIver of Wilson, NC; granddaughter, Chelsea Q. Ford of North Charleston, SC; grandson, Lamont A. Haigood, Jr., step grandson, Brandon McIver of Wilson. NC; one sister, Jeanett Ford Hilton of Ladson, SC, four brothers, Adolph Ford (Pastor Lois) of Hempstead, NY, Louis Ford of Amityville, NY, Clarence Ford of Uniondale, NY, and Furman Ford (Theo) of Valley Stream, NY; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Ford of McCormick, SC; a loving and devoted special friend, Issac Mitchell of Summerville, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
