Shannon Wayne Payne, Sr., was the son of the late Richard Wayne Payne and Marilyn Cooke Payne. He was born on November 9,1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wayne changed his address 9469 Bethsaida, Ct to Paradise Lane, Heaven on Tuesday October 29,2019.
Wayne graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later graduated from Atlanta Truck Driving School in East Point, Georgia. Wayne was employed with Bulldog Highway Express as a truck driver for more than 25 years. He enjoyed driving trucks. Upon his traveling, he settled down in Charleston, South Carolina. This is where he found the love of his life, a sweetheart, Mary Ellen Boyd. Shortly, thereafter Mary Ellen Boyd became his wife. Wayne then affiliated himself with St. Paul African Methodist Church under the Pastoral leadership of the late Elder John Randolph.
Wayne was a very special person. He was a man of very few words, he said what he had to say and that was “short and sweet”. He loved his family Christmas and Thanksgiving gave him an opportunity to really show off his expertise in the kitchen. He loved preparing holiday meals. Wayne enjoyed cooking and was a very fine cook.
