Thomasena Gibbs is the daughter of the Late Nathaniel Gibbs and Joesrine Hudson. She attended Alston School of Summerville South Carolina. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and worked diligently in the church. First, here in Summerville, then at Bethel A.M.E. Church in New York and Brownsville Community Church of God. Once she returned to Summerville she served as a choir member, Missionary Christian Women Convention(CWC), Hostility Committee, Adult Sunday School member, and was once a member of the State Brotherhood. Thomasena enjoyed going to the senior center where she enjoyed playing games, delivering meals to the sick and shut-in. She looked forward to the many trips the seniors would take. Thomasena was a great volunteer. Thomasena was a loving and caring person who loved gardening, and was known for making the best Macaroni. She was always willing to help anyone in need and had a smile that would brighten up your day. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Clifford Bernard Gibbs of the home; Grandson, Vaughn Bernard Gibbs; three grandchildren, Vaughn Bernard Gibbs Jr, Adrian Joel Gibbs, and Kiara Gibbs all of New York City; a stepsister, Erna Cozart; first cousins Kay Collins and Pauline Ancrum and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
